Tour Details

Leave the Branson neon behind and head north to experience the Ozarks more deeply! This four-hour journey travels the Branson backroads deep into the heart of the Ozarks to discover the land, people and stories that shape the region. Visit historic communities, discover tales of pioneers and outlaws, and cap it off with a 4x4 adventure atop Baird Mountain.

THE LAND AND LAKES

You’ll depart Pigeon Forge in the comfort of an iconic, custom Pink Jeep® Wrangler to discover a side of Branson that most visitors miss. As you pass by the Ruth and Paul Henning Conservation Area, your local adventure guide will share insights into the Ozark’s ancient upland landscape.

First stop is Cape Fair, known as the “living off the land and water” community. Located on the James River arm of Table Rock Lake, it was the first permanent settlement in Stone County in the early 19th century.

Learn how water shaped and transformed this community over time and its role as an early industry hub—producing gunpowder for the Civil War. Visit the Wooley Creek Schoolhouse to explore the diverse role of one-room schools in Ozark communities.

THE RIVER AND ROOTS

Your guide will bring Ozark history to life while navigating elevation changes, crossing old bridges and riding ridgelines towards Galena. This quiet riverside town is one of the oldest American settlements in the County and a site of early tourism near Branson.

Learn how town squares, general stores, churches and schools became the survival networks of Ozark communities. You’ll feel frozen in time as you roll past the old courthouse square and stop to walk across the Historic Y Bridge.

Built in 1927 and shaped like the letter “Y”, this rare three-way concrete arch bridge was designed to navigate a tight space between the James River and a steep local bluff. It is said to be one of only three Y-shaped bridges of its kind in the world. In the 1980s, it transitioned to a pedestrian-only walkway.

RUGGED MOUNTAIN HOLLOWS

From Galena to Reeds Spring, your jeep adventure winds through wooded ridges, limestone bluffs and tucked-away hollows that capture the rugged character of the Ozarks. In Reeds Spring, an underground spring helped sustain the early community and gave the town its name.

Tucked tightly into a narrow valley with buildings clinging to hillsides, Reeds Spring is a textbook Ozark town. Today, this mountain-hollow community retains that independent Ozark spirit from which it sprang, serving as a gathering place for local artists, craftspeople and free spirits who give the town its distinctive character.

And there's plenty of history here beneath the hills: in 1934, Bonnie and Clyde passed through the area pursued by local law officers, before a gunfight sent the notorious couple fleeing south.

TABLE ROCK LAKE

After traveling beyond Branson, we’ll return south to enjoy sweeping views of Table Rock Lake and Dam. You’ll marvel at how modern-day Branson tourism emerged from the land, the people and the stories of the Ozark Mountains from years past. Millions of people visit Branson every year, but you’ve ventured far beyond it.

4x4 OFF-ROAD ADVENTURE

Then buckle up and leave the pavement behind for an exclusive Pink Jeep Tours’ off-road adventure on Baird Mountain, where the rugged terrain and sweeping views bring the story of the Ozarks together.
