Tour Details
If you’re seeking a Pink Jeep® experience without the off-road bumps, the Scenic Sedona: Chapel Bells tour is right for you. This mild, all-pavement excursion showcases the area’s beautiful red rocks and landmarks during a relaxing ride through the town and its surrounding scenery. It highlights two of Sedona’s most popular destinations: the Chapel of the Holy Cross and Bell Rock Vista.
Start your trip at the Pink Adventure Plaza in Uptown Sedona. After a quick overview, you’ll hop aboard an open-air Jeep® Wrangler, designed to give you an immersive experience with unobstructed views. This custom-built vehicle will be piloted by your own Certified Interpretive Guide, who will take you on a two-hour tour of the area.
Your tour departs Uptown Sedona and drives through Tlaquepaque, famous for its stately sycamore trees, arched entryways and cobblestone streets. Authentically fashioned after a traditional Mexican Village, Tlaquepaque has been a Sedona landmark since the 1970s. With over 50 specialty shops, artist galleries and restaurants, you’ll want to return here later during your stay.
You’ll travel along the Red Rock Scenic Byway through Coconino National Forest to Bell Rock, one of Sedona’s most famous vortex sites. While en route, you’ll learn about Sedona’s history, local legends, area geology, desert plants and wildlife. During a captivating photo stop at Bell Rock Vista, your guide will note surrounding rock formations and nearby trails.
Then it’s off to Sedona’s iconic Chapel of the Holy Cross, where you’ll have time to explore the grounds and chapel on your own. Nestled into and rising above the rocks, you’ll learn of its history and architecture.
The Chapel was built in 1956 and, according to Architectural Digest, was voted one of “the 10 most beautiful churches around the world.” Chances are, you’ve seen photos of it. But now, you’ll feel what images simply can’t convey.
Time permitting, the Chapel Bells tour will include a third photo stop at Airport Mesa. Also considered one of Sedona’s famous vortex sites, the view atop Airport Mesa unfolds a panorama of West Sedona. See Coffee Pot Rock, Thunder Mountain and Chimney Rock. Locals and visitors alike gather here to watch spectacular sunsets. A nearby trail leads you to the Airport Mesa Vortex summit, a worthy sunrise hike during your stay.
After a relaxed excursion, you’ll go home with spectacular photos of Sedona’s epic landscapes. Heading back to Uptown, you’ll learn of Pink’s remarkable 60-year history and how Pink and Sedona have become synonymous around the world.
